Academy Award winner Ben Affleck's critically acclaimed, directorial debut GONE BABY GONE will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on 22nd September by Miramax Films.

Intelligent, challenging, powerful, provocative and deeply dark, Gone Baby Gone is a masterpiece in modern filmmaking and a return to form for Affleck who's now established himself as one of the industry's most promising directors.

Affleck's assured cinematic vision and deft handling of movie's challenging subject matter recalls his Oscar-winning off-screen contribution to 1997's Good Will Hunting which he co-wrote with Matt Damon.

The equally impressive cast - which includes support from Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby, The Shawshank Redemption) and Ed Harris (A History of Violence, The Human Stain) - deliver unforgettably haunting performances. A mesmerising Amy Ryan (The Wire, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead) earned a Best Actress nomination at the 2008 Academy Awards for her standout portrayal of a struggling single mother.

Based on the novel of the same name by Mystic River author Dennis Lehane, the film adapts the book's disturbing subject for the screen to deliver a truly chilling and uncompromising piece of cinema.

Four year old Amanda McCready goes missing from her Boston home, presumably snatched from her bed without a trace while her mother Helene (Amy Ryan) visits a neighbour. Unhappy with police investigations, it's left to Amanda's distraught aunt and uncle to hire Private investigators Patrick Kenzie (Director Ben's equally talented brother Casey Affleck, The Assassination of Jesse James) and Angie Gennaro (Michelle Monahan) to find what the authorities can't - their niece.

Working with detectives Nick Poole (John Ashton) and Remy Bressant (Harris), and under the command of Captain Doyle (Freeman), the pair battle against prejudice and poverty to discover that nothing is as it seems and even the "good guys" have something to hide...

DVD & Blu-ray Disc bonus features include a thought-provoking extended ending, deleted scenes with commentary by Ben Affleck and co-writer Aaron Stockhard, and two "making-of" featurettes.

This powerhouse of a thriller isn't to be missed when it's released this September.
